Volatile Markets of the Moment

Watching markets going DOWN is not fun.  Watching our investments go down is not fun.  But knowing that real corrections come and go and are healthy does help.  They provide us a chance to take advantage of compelling investments for the long term.  We have talked about the recent years of good markets and how the further up we went meant the tougher a snap-back would be.   The stock market is snapping back down to the real world set of circumstances in our midst.  We can fill in the blank with “tariffs” as the reason, but the truth is that, in the opinion of many and of myself, the stock market has been over-valued.  The “everything is easy” rally was only going to last for so long.

As I mentioned recently when the market began correcting, the stock market could bounce back quickly, or it could be down for a while – There is no telling for sure.  But I DO acknowledge that I have kinda been waiting on it.  And we have, now, much more appealing investment choices both in technology and in other areas.

The financial markets are adjusting to everything not being easy.  It is healthy and we sort through what are the best long-term investments into which we adjust.

I just returned from a 2 day briefing at Raymond James HQ.  My opinions of the last few months stand unchanged.  Optimistic looking further out but seeing a reality check for current markets that we need to work through – and then be better off for the next run.

I’ll send a Raymond James Investment Research report again soon.

Always here to talk further!
